Who would have thought!

First of all, props to my cous. My cousin Wilson took a few days off and is in town to visit. Granted, he's currently still out with an ex-coworker at this late hour... Cowboys pre season game, probably some catching up too, he's got a key, it's all good ... unless he forgets the gate code and has to call to get buzzed in ... *knock on wood* ... but props to him for coming up to visit. It's always good to have family visit. Additionally, he was thoughtful enough to bring his own towel. Granted, he didn't know that our guest room was fully stocked with towels and basic toiletries. But I ask you, what kind of guest is thoughtful enough to bring their own towel these days?

But, I digress.

Earlier today Marcus called. He was very animated and excited. That is to say, he was more animated and more excited than he usually is when he calls. This time, it was not just the California sunshine that he was bubbling over. His network of former co-workers had recently passed along a Java UI position that he thought I might be suited for. Thus, after forwarding the email to me, he had an excuse to call and catch up. That was good :)

A few hours later I found myself back at home. I was being very domestic; I was checking to make sure that there were enough towels and such in the guest bath for my cousin. There is a ring on my number with a TI caller ID. My first thought is that Mark has finally rung me up and that we'll get to hang out a bit. However, it is a recuriter from TI. After a bit of deja-vu, we realize that he is not only discussing the same position, but he is the very contact person that was forwarded to me from Marcus in CA not 3 hours ago. How twilight zone is that!

Oh, and for Sangetta and all the other medical residents out there and everyone else who is to busy saving our lives to take time for themselves: Props to you. Tonight I did roasted chicken with sage and lots of taragon stuffed under the skin. The chicken itself sat on a bed of carrots, onions, and whole taragon. My sister is wrong, you can never have too much taragon. We're going to see how much more we can add to this variation.
